Tyson Fury was back in the ring last night in the second fight of his comeback against the Italian-born German, Francesco Pianeta, in Belfast. The fight ended with a comfortable points victory for the self-styled ‘Gypsy King’.Unlike Fury’s previous clash against Sefer Seferi, this did not descend into a complete farce, with Pianeta at least lasting the distance. But Fury is never one to shy away from the spotlight completely, as we saw last night.Ryan Songalia of The Ring noted an uncanny similarity between Fury and Muhammad Ali’s antics during the opening round. As the video below shows, Pianeta tried to assert some early pressure by throwing a few punches whilst Fury was backed into the corner. But Fury brought out the rope-a-dope tactic, using his impressive agility to stay out of trouble, before shimmying around and landing a few solid punches himself. We then get to see the comparison with arguably the greatest boxer of all time. In the infamous clip, Ali is fighting Michael Dokes and undoubtedly faces a much greater barrage of punches than Fury, showcasing some incredible head movement, not to mention finishing with a provocative shake of the hips.Although it is worth remembering that fight was an exhibition, so there was obviously very little at stake.

Naturally, the video provoked a mixed response on Twitter with various boxing fans upset even at the prospect of Fury being compared to Ali.

Nevertheless, for someone who took an absence from the sport of nearly three years, it's good to see Fury's reflexes are clearly as rapid as what they were when he beat Wladimir Klitschko in 2015.

With Fury up against a much more serious contender in Deontay Wilder next, can he afford to put on another Muhammad Ali tribute act on the side? Let us know in the comments below.
