Manchester City are the team to beat this season.

Pep Guardiola's side broke a plethora of records last season, amassing 100 points as they romped to the Premier League title - the division's first ever centurions.

Their performance away at the Emirates on the opening weekend was brilliant as they won 2-0 and they put Huddersfield to the sword on their home bow, winning 5-1.

The Citizens notched three quick-fire goals in the first-half, with Sergio Aguero scoring twice and Gabriel Jesus also on target.

Jon Stankovic pulled one back for the visitors, but Guardiola's men came on in strong in the second-half as David Silva scored a brilliant free-kick, before Aguero got his hattrick.

And fans at the Etihad were treated to something very special; an assist from their goalkeeper Ederson.

What made it even better is that is wasn't a hopeful punt up field that luckily fell to Aguero, it was a 80-yard arrow to the Argentine striker.

The visitors were frustrating City by sitting deep, so Ederson took matters into his own hands and you will not see a better pass all season.

Absolutely ridiculous. The swerve on the ball is inch perfect and Aguero's finish after wasn't bad either.

To have Ederson's passing range as an extra weapon in City's arsenal is almost unfair.

A few eyebrows were raised when the Citizens splashed £35m on him last season, but the former Benfica man has been a revelation in sky blue.

And after the arrivals of Alisson Becker and Kepa Arrizabalaga for fees almost double that of Ederson's, the Brazilian is beginning to look like even more of a bargain.

Man City embark on a relatively easy run of fixtures now, with Wolves, Newcastle, Fulham, Cardiff and Brighton next the five in their path before meeting Liverpool on October 7.

Given their start to the season, it looks like they'll be arriving at Anfield with 21 points already on the board.
