There's not much positivity surrounding Manchester United right now.Following a gloomy pre-season, Jose Mourinho's side were deservedly beaten 3-2 by Brighton in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.Man United's title chances look incredibly slim and club legend Gary Neville doesn't believe they're "anywhere near good enough" to challenge Manchester City.Neville told Sky Sports: "It will get better and United will get stronger with players back. I do think United will finish in the top four."But that’s not always been the benchmark with the club who usually aspire to win titles."At this moment in time it looks unlikely. It looks unlikely that they’re anywhere near good enough."That back four is not good enough to win the title. The midfield is strong, up front is strong. But that back four will always cause you problems and concede goals."Jose knows what it takes to win titles and the base is a good defence."It was a pathetic display at Brighton and the travelling Man United supporters were understandably not very happy. They were even more appalled when the full-time whistle blew and only four players came over to thank them for their support.

Lots of them "paid a fair whack" to make a 500-mile round trip from Manchester - they deserved far better.

Captain Paul Pogba went straight down the tunnel.

The fans are owed a big performance when they face Tottenham next Monday night.

Having come through the club's youth academy, Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford both "know what it means to represent United."

Ultimately, all the players should be going over to thank the supporters at the full-time whistle, no matter the result.

It could be a very long season for these faithful Man United fans.

Pogba admitted that the fans should be 'mad' after their poor performance against Brighton.

“We always play for the shirt and the fans, this is not the result we or they wanted,” Pogba told MUTV.

“They should be very mad. We should be mad. Everybody is mad.”
