No matter who you support, you simply can’t hate N’Golo Kante.

Not only is the Chelsea midfielder an unbelievable player, he’s also a very loveable character.

While some footballers may relish the glitz and glamour of playing at the top level, Kante appears to have remained the same humble and shy person he's always been.

He might earn a ridiculous amount of money but when the 27-year-old crashed his second-hand Mini Cooper last season - costing around £20,000 - he turned up to training in the same vehicle two days later.

And it was in some state.

The wing mirror was smashed and his front wheel arch was dented.

It’s fair to say Kante’s feet a very firmly on the ground.

And yet another example of Kante’s humbleness - and shyness - was seen this summer after he helped France win the World Cup.

France beat Croatia 4-2 in the final and Kante played a huge for Les Bleus during the tournament.

But a video emerged after full-time that appeared to show Kante being too shy to ask his teammates to hold the World Cup.

Instead, people pushed in front of him before Steven N'Zonzi had to grab the trophy for him to hold.

And Olivier Giroud has just confirmed that’s exactly what happened.

In a joint interview with Kante, Giroud revealed that his compatriot was, indeed, too shy to ask to hold the World Cup trophy.

"Obviously, we knew that Hugo (captain Lloris) would be the first one to touch it," said Giroud when asked about getting his hands on the World Cup.

"I have to say I have been clever because I took the good position to touch it."

The interviewer then asked Kante when he got to hold the World Cup.

"I was waiting my turn," he said, before Giroud interrupted.

"He is so shy so he didn't want to say 'give it to me', so he had to wait. Sometimes people came in front of him. At the end of the day someone took it and gave it to him."

Like we said - how can you not love N’Golo Kante?
