It’s great to have Monday Night Football back, isn’t it?Not only is it fantastic to have a Premier League match to watch on a Monday night but it also produces some fantastic debate between Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher.Sky Sports scheduled a four-hour programme for Crystal Palace’s match against Liverpool with much of the first hour involving interesting chats between Neville and Carragher regarding the weekend’s matches. And it didn’t take long for the two former defenders to clash. The topic was Unai Emery’s Arsenal - who had lost 3-2 at Chelsea on Saturday.Essentially, Neville had been encouraged by Emery’s start at Arsenal despite defeats to Manchester City and Chelsea and believed the new manager will get it right at the Emirates eventually. But Carragher disagreed. He believed that Emery himself needed to adapt to the Premier League and that nothing appears to have changed since Arsene Wenger was manager. It also included a few little bullet points that Carragher had produced listing the things Emery needs to work on at Arsenal.“Jamie’s little PowerPoint he’s made is lovely,” Neville said.To which Carragher replied: “You shoulda taken it to Valencia.”Check out one of the clips Sky Sports posted of the debate:

FANS LOVED THE DEBATE

It was certainly a very interesting watch and one that football fans loved. Just check out the reaction:

One man that certainly agrees with Neville, rather than Carragher, is Alan Shearer.

“It is going to be hugely difficult for Unai Emery to get rid of the scent of Arsene Wenger at Arsenal,” Shearer said.

“Wenger’s stamp is all over that football club – in and around the training ground, in and around the Emirates.

“You cannot expect a guy to be in a club for six weeks and miraculously turn it around and for everything to be rosy straight away.

“He will probably need 18 months and three transfer windows to get rid of Arsene Wenger’s shadow, you can only really judge him after that.”
