His second competitive outing in the colours of Liverpool proved a much tougher challenge as the Reds overcame a gritty Crystal Palace side to leave 2-0 victors.
Thanks to a James Milner penalty - which really quite angered Roy Hodgson - and Sadio Mane's fantastic solo effort, the visitors maintained their perfect start to the season.
That wasn't to say that Alisson didn't need to be on his toes at Selhurst Park, though, with Brazil's number one being called upon on numerous occasions.
He even made a brilliant save from Luka Milivojevic's free-kick that prompted Jurgen Klopp to celebrate on the sidelines.

Alisson was also incredibly effective in the air, something Liverpool had prepared for using rugby tackle bags in anticipation of Palace's physicality.
Despite rising to claim crosses contested by stalwarts such as Mamadou Sakho and Christian Benteke, Alisson showed he had the metal to deal with the bumps and bruises of English football.
For that reason alone, it was somewhat deserving that Liverpool's new 'keeper collected another clean sheet for himself.

However, Liverpool fans were also pleased to see that Alisson's distribution was once again doing them no end of favours in the Premier League.
From simple passing that builds fluid football, to incredible calmness under pressure and those classic long-ranged diagonals, his distribution was at its very best against Palace.
It was only natural then that one Liverpool supporter decided to cobble together his individual highlights from the game and title it: 'Alisson The Quarterback Against Palace • 2018/19.'

The ability of the goalkeeper to initiate possession play and also launch counterattacks really can't be underestimated in the modern game.
When your team's shot stopper is - in many ways - also an 11th outfield player, it adds an extra dimension to your side.
And it seems that Liverpool are already beginning to feel the positivity from Alisson bringing this to the table after five years of Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius.
You only have to look at the criticism surrounding Petr Cech against Manchester City for attributes of his game that Alisson can execute in his sleep.
Of course, it remains early days for Liverpool's new goalkeeper but the signs are there and it seems the Reds do have their very own 'quarterback' between the sticks.
When even the goalkeeper can play exciting football in a Klopp team, there's plenty of reason to worry.
