Tyson Fury continued his comeback to boxing with a dominant win over Francesco Pianeta in Belfast on Saturday.

It may not have quite featured the fireworks Fury had previously promised but it was still a confidence-boosting performance.

Following this victory, Fury will come up against the ever so strong Deontay Wilder, potentially in November, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Of course, Wilder will be a huge step up to what Fury has faced so far in 2018 but there were certainly some signs he could cause the WBC champ a few problems.

And the statistics from Saturday's fight would appear to indicate that too.

Weighing in at 18 pounds lighter since his comeback from his exile from the sport, his increased elusiveness proved to be too much for Fury's Italian counterpart, who found it incredibly difficult time to land punches all night.

According to data released by Compubox, as per World Boxing News, Fury was very effective when aiming for the body of Pianeta, as 45% of his landed punches were to the flanks of the statuesque Pianeta.

Fury excelled in rounds 6-10 as he out-landed Pianeta 71-21 while his Italian opponent managed to hit him just 37 times across the 10 three-minute rounds - further illustrating The Gypsy King's elusiveness.

Fury now awaits Wilder, the American superstar who has an astonishing record of 39 KOs from 40 professional fights.

In a comment aimed at Wilder, Fury said: “My promise is that when we go to Las Vegas, I’m knocking you out.”

Wilder added: "We’re ready now,” during the post-fight interview. “This fight will happen. It’s on. This fight is official. This is what we’ve been waiting for, the best fighting the best.

“There’s one thing Tyson Fury has never had. He’s won a lot of belts, but he’s never had the WBC belt. If he ever even thinks about having this belt he better wake up and apologize to me because it will never happen.

“I can’t wait to fight you because I am going to knock you out. This I promise you. Every man who has ever stepped in the ring with me, I’ve knocked them out in devastating fashion.

"You’ve never been knocked out, but you’re going to feel the experience of what it’s like to be hit by the Bronze Bomber.”
