Sergio Aguero stole the headlines this weekend with a brilliant hat-trick in Manchester City's 6-1 win over Huddersfield Town. The Argentine's ninth three-goal haul in the Premier League moves him level with Robbie Fowler in the record books - and three behind Alan Shearer at the top. It's now 146 goals in the league for Aguero, too, which moves him above Robin van Persie as the second-highest non-British goalscorer in the Premier League. Now only Thierry Henry's 175 goals are preventing him from being the record holder. All in all, it's been a pretty brilliant time for Aguero since his £38m move to City from Atletico Madrid in 2011.He's scored bags of goals, won the golden boot, and lifted the Premier League trophy three times in those seven seasons, making him undoubtedly one of the greatest strikers to grace the division. But now Alan Shearer, arguably the greatest, has gone all out in his praise for Aguero - and it's safe to say that no everyone agrees with him.In his Team of the Week for the official Premier League website, Shearer declared that Aguero was "the best foreign player to play in the Premier League".And that is some claim.Eric Cantona, Gianfranco Zola, Dennis Bergkamp, Thierry Henry, Cristiano Ronaldo; there have been some incredible, revolutionary foreign talents over the last 26 years and you can imagine the reaction from fans to Shearer's comments. You can check some of it out below:

Aguero has probably got himself into the argument but is his impact on the competition really up there with the likes of Henry and Ronaldo?

The more he scores, the easier that argument becomes, however, and it'll certainly be up for discussion if he continues this season like he's started it.

For now, Shearer might be getting a little carried away - although we'll have to revisit that in ten months time.
