It’s hard to judge Arsenal’s start to the season.A 2-0 home loss against Manchester City before a 3-2 away defeat to Chelsea has left Unai Emery’s side with zero points from their opening two matches. The Gunners are already playing catch-up in their race for a top-four finish but did they really expect to pick up any points from their opening two fixtures? There has been positives, though.Youngster Matteo Guendouzi has definitely been a highlight. The 19-year-old has started both games and has looked extremely comfortable in midfield. He’s even keeping out Arsenal’s high-profile summer signing Lucas Torreira out of the starting XI.Torreira arrived from Sampdoria for £26.5 million after impressing for Uruguay at the World Cup but has had to settle for a place on the bench for so.He was introduced at half-time against Chelsea but didn’t do much to suggest he should be starting. That’s because he was at fault for Chelsea’s winner - and Arsenal coach Juan Carlos Carcedo made sure he knew about it.After Alexandre Lacazette have away possession, Torreira was picking up Marcos Alonso. However, he allowed the Spaniard to run off him which proved fatal as the left-back finished past Petr Cech to give Chelsea all three points.

TORREIRA ANGERED ARSENAL'S HEAD COACH

It was poor and, at the final whistle, Carcedo approached Torreira.

According to football.london, Emery’s assistant head coach was furious with Torreira for allowing Alonso to drift off him to score.

For more than a minute, Carcedo lectured Torreira, “pointing to the area of the pitch where the goal came from and going through what he had done wrong”.

Torreira is clearly a very talented footballer but Emery and his coaching team are clearly demanding high standards at Arsenal.
