The 2019 NBA free agency could have a major impact on the entire landscape in the league. There's a growing expectation that the biggest name on the market, Kawhi Leonard, will head back to his hometown and sign for the Los Angeles Lakers. The superstar requested a trade away from the San Antonio Spurs this summer and indicated a preference to join the Lakers. His wish wasn't granted, however, as he was offloaded to the Toronto Raptors, a different conference and country altogether. But Leonard's future is still very much in his hands as he can decide where he wants to play next year by hitting free agency. The Lakers chose not to dismantle their team by making a trade for the 27-year-old after the Spurs asked for a package including Brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma and Josh Hart.Magic Johnson and the Los Angeles front office are confident that they can lure him next summer like they did with LeBron James.

The King and the Klaw

The prospect of seeing two of the best players in the league team up in the purple and gold uniform is a mouthwatering prospect for fans in Tinseltown.

So when a picture of the duo working out together in L.A. surfaced on the internet on Tuesday, it sent them into a frenzy.

It may be the first time that both players have ever been seen together outside of an NBA setting.

But it's important to note that they weren't alone as they were joined by another superstar, Kevin Durant.

Interestingly enough, KD will also be a free agent next year and some fans were getting ideas that they trio could be in the early stages of working on an outrageous plan to team up.

At this moment, the Lakers have LeBron and a promising young core. It's difficult to predict how many wins they'll rack up and if they'll secure a playoff spot.

Adding Leonard and/or Durant would change everything for the franchise in 2019.

The picture most likely means nothing but the players knew what kind of reaction it would get.

It's the NBA silly season and any image or video posted online will get fans talking since there's no basketball on the court to speak of.

With Cleveland Cavaliers youngster Cedi Osman and a collection of coaches also in attendance, this was surely nothing more than a good workout session.

But that won't stop Lakers fans from speculating about what their team could look like in 12 months' time.
