Following Tyson Fury's victory over Francesco Pianeta last weekend, he will now face Deontay Wilder in their now-confirmed heavyweight clash.

Fury is for-sure a fighter that can offer 'The Bronze Bomber' a unique challenge thanks to his sheer size and awkwardness.

But, despite Fury's impressive comeback performance, there's one person who doesn't seem to be offering Fury much of a backing in his shot against Wilder.

Speaking in a recent interview with The Sun, Bellew made it clear that he isn't giving the 'Gypsy King' much of a chance in a match-up against Wilder.

“Fury against Wilder would be over in three rounds, at the most," says Bellew.

“At the minute it’s a bit of a freak show with Tyson Fury.

“But to be fair he has been out of the ring for the best part of three years and he hasn’t lived the best lifestyle, so you can’t expect to come back into this sport and this business and take on top competitors.

“He is definitely not ready for Deontay Wilder.

“Pianeta is a 6ft 5in, 17½ stone southpaw. How is that preparing him – in any way, shape or form – for a 6ft 7in, possibly the biggest puncher in the whole world?

“I don’t think he’d ever beat Wilder."

It's the style that matters...

Although a date for the clash is yet to be confirmed, there's still may questions looming over this match-up from a stylistic perspective.

A lot will depend on Fury going into this one. With the Brit having spent so much time out of the ring, it's surely taken a toll on him, and despite a strong looking performance since his comeback, going into the ring against a world champion is an entirely different proposition altogether.

“Styles make fights, but when you’re talking about Wilder, no-one knows what he is going to do – because he doesn’t know either.

“I always thought David Haye would beat Fury, because of the styles. Tyson Fury is a vulnerable heavyweight, there’s no two ways about that.

“He is not a big man who can absorb everything. He is vulnerable and he can be hurt, and when you are coming across guys with the speed and explosive power, like Deontay Wilder and Haye, it isn’t good."

Despite Bellew's views on the Fury vs Wilder fight, it's certainly going to be one mighty spectacle for the sport, and with the lingering presence of Anthony Joshua, we can be sure to expect the winner to be well on their way into what will surely become one of the biggest fights of this era.
