In Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Arsenal have arguably the fastest forward in world football.

There would no doubt be some more obscure names in lower leagues that would give Aubameyang a tough 100 metre race, but few come close to the Gabon international.

He settled in to Premier League football after his move in January, showing plenty of promise with 10 goals in his first 14 appearances.

That considered, he was favourite amongst many supporters to win the Golden Boot this season despite competition from Sergio Aguero, Harry Kane and Mohamed Salah.

And given the high intensity of the Premier League, his pace was always going to be a deadly weapon when it came to unlocking rival defences.

Pacy players at Arsenal

Finding out exactly how fast Aubameyang really is, though, is no easy task.

Football fans dream of the scenario where football's fastest players raced one another and an Aubameyang vs Hector Bellerin duel would be particularly interesting.

It remains unlikely that these rapid players will ever pull on the spikes and settle in the blocks, but supporters have been given an interesting insight from Arsenal training.

'Max speed' data has been leaked

A video emerged in pre-season of players racing each other in pairs and now Aubameyang himself has leaked training data on his Instagram story.

The 29-year-old was trolling Matteo Guendouzi for some poor sprinting data from training, yet included the entire list of data and the results are fascinating.

The list shows the players and their 'max speed' in a particular training exercise.

Whether or not it was over 100m, between poles or short distances is unknown - but check out the figures below:

Well then, well then, well then.

Turns out Sokratis Papastathopoulos is something of a speed demon.

Interestingly, too, Aubameyang gets the better of Bellerin, a fact that will greatly interest Arsenal fans who have long known that the pair are the two fastest players at the club.

Nevertheless, seeing Sokratis and Shkodran Mustafi so high in the table will come as surprise, while Lucas Torreira comes rock bottom.

So, the wait for Arsenal players to race each other on camera still drags on, but this is the closest Gooners have come to seeing who the fastest really is.

As for Guendouzi - who inspired the post itself - Aubameyang wrote the caption: "How are you 93? You can still make progress."

The Frenchman clearly has potential to push his max speed further and the middle of the pack is certainly tight, with Mesut Ozil and Danny Welbeck barely separated.

If the statistics teach us anything, though, it's that pundits should probably leave out criticism of Sokatris' pace because he's got Bellerin in his headlights.
