Arsenal could risk losing another midfielder on a free transfer this summer.

Having failed to agree a new contract with Jack Wilshere, Aaron Ramsey is the next midfielder who could leave the club for nothing.

The Welshman only has ten months left on his current contract, fuelling rumours he could leave the club.

Unai Emery has expressed before that it's 'important' that the two parties come to an agreement over a new contract.

For me it’s very important he stays with us," he said earlier this month, per the Daily Express. "His experience here in Arsenal and the Premier League is very important and will give us all the information and performances in his quality.

“Then, the contract is for speaking with the club and the players.”

Emery is believed to hold Ramsey in very high regard, but he hinted that was not the case after leaving the Welshman out of Arsenal's starting line-up against Chelsea last Saturday.

Ramsey was brought on in the 68th minute, but he could not prevent his side losing 3-2 to their bitter rivals.

Ramsey's reaction to being left on the bench has now emerged, and it's fair to say he's not happy.

According to the Sun, the 27-year-old was shocked about being named on the bench.

He has let Emery know that he will not sign a new contract at Arsenal until he knows where he figures in his plans.

Ramsey has told Emery that he sees himself as a central midfielder and has made it clear he wants to be played there.

The former Cardiff player is also demanding £225,000-per-week, double the amount he currently earns.

But the Gunners are struggling to meet these demands after agreeing lucrative deals with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Alexandre Lacazette in the past year.

It's not looking good for Ramsey's future at Arsenal.

Not only is he demanding to be a key part of Emery's plans, he's also asking for wages that Arsenal will struggle to pay.

Unless nothing is resolved, his 11-year association with the club will soon come to an end.
