There was no shortage of pressure on Arsenal going into their game with West Ham United.Entering the season under a new manager in Unai Emery, supporters have been intrigued to see how the club would fare after 22-years playing under Arsene Wenger.Simply put, they couldn't have started much worse but kicking off with two Premier League defeats was somewhat mitigated by their terrible luck in the fixtures draw. They were drawn up against Manchester City on the opening day of the season and lost 2-0 thanks to goals from Raheem Sterling and Bernardo Silva. That was then followed up by the daunting task of Chelsea away and despite recovering from a 2-0 deficit, Marcos Alonso stole the three points for the home side.

Arsenal vs West Ham

It's becoming pretty easy to see why there was so much riding on the West Ham game, right?

The game was jokingly dubbed as a relegation battle with neither side enjoying an impressive start to the season but it was the Hammers that took the advantage.

Marko Arnautovic bagged his second goal of the season during the early exchanges, before Nacho Monreal saved Arsenal blushes with an equaliser.

Arsenal fans angry with three players

Nevertheless, it was an unconvincing performance across the board and Arnautovic had a number of chances to regain the Hammers' advantage.

In fact, if it wasn't for Petr Cech and the linesman's flag, Arsenal could have been in real trouble.

That naturally meant that Arsenal fans were frustrated on social media and there were three players in particular who were causing frustration.

Considering the showing, the players unsurprisingly came from the club's defence with Hector Bellerin, Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Shkodran Mustafi being the focus of their frustrations.

It's fair to say that Arsenal have their fair share of problems defensively.

Supporters will perhaps be surprised that Mustafi even remains an Arsenal player after such a terrible 2017-18 season and he has shown few signs of improvements since the summer.

As for Sokratis, concerns have been rife that the Greek could be too slow for Premier League football and the early evidence suggests they could be right.

You can't fault Bellerin for pace but his form has been as spotty as it was last season.

Nevertheless, it's important to remember that these are early days for the Emery era and transitioning from over two decades of Wenger was never going to be easy.

Fans will have to remain patient as the Spanish manager sorts things out at the club and his priority should be Arsenal's defence.
