Vince Carter is not ready to contemplate retirement just yet as he recently signed a one-year deal with the Atlanta Hawks. The 41-year-old will be the oldest active player in the league next year. It'll be a 21st season in the NBA for Carter and the Hawks will be his eighth different franchise. The veteran was officially unveiled as an Atlanta player on Friday as he put pen to paper on his veteran minimum contract. The team announced that he'll be wearing the number 15 jersey, which was previously worn by Al Horford. It has been vacant since the center chose to depart in 2016 to join the Boston Celtics in free agency. The 32-year-old spent nine years with the organisation and is one of the best players in the team's history after drafting him with the number three pick in 2007.Some feel he's deserving of having his jersey retired but Atlanta has chosen not to.The Hawks have decided to finally bring the number 15 back into play and have allocated it to Carter for the new campaign. Horford was always going to have an interest in who donned the jersey after him and he's happy that it'll be worn by a player he has a huge amount of respect for.

"Vince is someone I look up to and I'm glad he's wearing the number!" Horford told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Chris Vivlamore.

Vince has had that number on his back for the majority of his 20 years in the league, including his famous stint with the Toronto Raptors.

The Georgia-based outfit hilariously proposed to give the number 15 to Carmelo Anthony when they acquired him in a trade with the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Melo was always going to receive a buyout from the Hawks but the team's social media account chose to have fun with the situation.

But Carter will now be the owner of the jersey as he potentially plays the last campaign of a legendary career.
