It’s been a brilliant weekend of Premier League action but gameweek three’s biggest clash is, without doubt, Manchester United v Tottenham at Old Trafford.
After their disappointing defeat to Brighton last weekend, another loss for Jose Mourinho’s side is almost unimaginable.
It would already leave them six points behind the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea and Spurs and put pressure on Mourinho.
But a victory would silence a lot of critics and would really kickstart their season.
It’s set to be an enthralling encounter.
In truth, both United and Spurs didn’t have the greatest of summers.
Mourinho was constantly moaning about United’s preparations and saw only one high-profile arrival in the form of Fred.
Whereas Spurs failed to sign anyone.
However, the north London side have won both of their Premier League fixtures to-date and, despite their stadium problems, have started the campaign promisingly.
But who would make a combined XI between the two sides?
Well, Sky Sports asked pundit Matt Le Tissier to pick his combined XI ahead of Monday night’s clash.
Rather interestingly, Le Tissier selected just three players from United – and excluded Alexis Sanchez.
Here it is:
Goalkeeper | David de Gea
Right-back | Kieran Trippier
Centre-back | Toby Alderweireld
Centre-back | Jan Vertonghen
Left-back | Ben Davies
Centre-midfield | Paul Pogba
Centre-midfield | Mousa Dembele
Attacking midfield | Cristian Eriksen
Attacking midfield | Dele Alli
Attacking midfield | Marcus Rashford
Striker | Harry Kane
After Le Tissier named Rashford in his combined XI, one Man United fan actually questioned his inclusion.
They tweeted Le Tissier saying: “Rashford? FFS please, clearly coming from somebody that does not watch us week in week out @mattletiss7 please do your homework!”
But Le Tissier replied with: “Bit difficult to watch every minute of every premier league team so I judge on games I see live. Apologies if my opinion is different from yours but that’s the way of the world I’m afraid.”
