Last year, Washington Wizards star John Wall was among the critics of super teams. But he may be softening his stance as he understands the difficulty of competing in today's era without multiple stars. The Golden State Warriors took the concept to a different level when they signed Kevin Durant in 2016 and their addition of DeMarcus Cousins this summer only enhanced it.The Wizards are one of a few teams fortunate enough to have two All-Stars on their roster and Wall is now acknowledging that it's impossible to compete without this level of talent.“If you don’t have a superteam, or three superstars, or three all-stars on your team, it’s very hard to win,” Wall said, according to Tim Bontemps of The Washington Post.

Performing a U-turn

Many people will jump on the point guard for this comment as he took to Instagram to poke fun at stars for teaming up last year.

He tagged his teammate Bradley Beal and said, "I wonder who else gonna team up next to try to win a ship this year. but who care cause we all we got bro ..DC or Nothin !!"

The All-NBA man quickly deleted that caption and replaced it but it was already captured across the internet.

The 27-year-old admitted that he tried to recruit his close friend Cousins to join him in Washington but was unable to do so.

This shows that the dynamic guard is prepared to embrace the modern phenomenon of super teams.

It has become the norm in the NBA largely because of Team USA and the friendships that are created when the stars get together.

Wall was recently part of a star-studded group that descended on Las Vegas for a minicamp where some players may have planted the seeds for a potential partnership in the future.

LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh reportedly plotted their path to the Miami Heat while they were teammates with Team USA.

Wall is one of the more competitive players in the league who wouldn't want to create a team full of superstars but he understands that he has to move with the times or simply get left behind.
