In August, Chilean goalkeeper Claudio Bravo suffered an achilles tendon injury in Manchester City training. The 35-year-old stopper, who played in the Community Shield victory over Chelsea, could miss the whole of the 2018/19 season.Bravo previously spent two successful years at Barcelona before moving to Man City in a £17m deal in 2016.He won La Liga and the Copa del Rey twice - and also won a Champions League winners' medal during his time at the Camp Nou.Bravo has struggled since moving to England and Pep Guardiola reacted by signing Ederson from Benfica in 2017.He was limited to just two Premier League starts last season. The Chilean international has two years remaining on his contract but his recent injury may spell the end of his career at the Etihad.

Real Madrid's beautiful gesture

In December 2017, Sunderland's Duncan Watmore received a heartwarming letter from Real Madrid after suffering a serious injury.

And it appears the famous Spanish club have done something similar for the former Barcelona stopper.

The letter, received on August 28, was posted by Bravo on Twitter.

It translates: "On behalf of all of us who make up Real Madrid C.F., especially our president, Florentino Perez, I want to send you our best wishes for a very speedy recovery.

"We are very sorry for what happened, as injuries are the worst part of football, but we have no doubt that, with your professionalism and commitment, you will continue to give a lot of joy to football fans.

"With all our respect and admiration."

Heartwarming stuff from Los Blancos - a gesture of true class.

Bravo wrote: "Thank you to @realmadrid for the noble gesture. Acts like this make football very good. A big hug."

Hopefully it won't be too long before Bravo returns to first team action.

The transfer window was already closed when Bravo suffered his injury so Man City recalled Montenegro under-21 international Aro Muric from a season-long loan at Dutch side NAC Breda.

"The surgery was good and we'll see [when Bravo is back]," Guardiola told reporters.

"Unfortunately with Claudio the first option was [for Muric] to come back because the window is closed. We have Aro and Grimshaw. They will be our three goalkeepers."

"Ederson is the first, Aro is the second, Grimmy is the third. Aro has an amazing potential as a goalkeeper."
