Liverpool are top of the league after keeping three clean sheets in their opening three games. They remain the only side yet to concede a goal in the top flight and have shown a level of solidity at the back that Liverpool fans have only been able to dream of in the past.Jurgen Klopp has been very intentional in addressing the defensive frailties he inherited from Brendan Rogers, bringing in Virgil van Dijk, Andy Robertson, and promoting Trent Alexander-Arnold to the first team before splashing the cash on Roma goalkeeper Alisson Becker. The arrivals of Van Dijk and Alisson were a massive statement of intent from Klopp as he worked towards a defence that could ably support his scintillating attack.Alisson arrived amidst massive fanfare with Kopites believing they finally had a goalkeeper they could trust after years of nerves and hurt between the sticks. The Brazilian stopper has hit the ground running too, putting in some very impressive shifts against Crystal Palace and Brighton respectively.Alisson is quite easily the coolest man on the pitch at anytime and he certainly showed it when he nonchalantly chipped an on-rushing Anthony Knockaert on Saturday. The cheeky bit of skill drew a massive reaction from the Anfield faithful whose love for their new stopper has grown exponentially over the last few weeks. And now, Alisson has jokingly warned that there is more to come during a recent interview.“I am very happy to be in this great club, with players of great quality and within the pitch they are showing a lot of confidence in me. I feel confident to do that here.”I’ll say.

“It is already calculated. I take risks. Fans with heart problems have to be careful! But on the pitch, as I said before, I do not try to make fun of a rival,” said Alisson speaking on that chip.

“It’s not to show that I can do this or that, but to help the team. It is to achieve targets.”

There you have it.

The Brazilian seems to know exactly what he is doing but has warned that Liverpool fans could be in for a few more heart-stopping moments as the season goes on.

His incredible command of the ball at his feet adds another dangerous element to an already potent team.

And, after years of heart-attack-a-minute goalkeeping at Anfield, there is no doubting that Alisson provides a welcome relief for Reds fans in the terraces.
