Boss Brendan Rodgers has revealed that Celtic have rejected a “significant offer” for Moussa Dembele. The 22-year-old Frenchman skipped training on Wednesday to have talks with the Parkhead board as French outfit Lyon confirmed their interest in him.Dembele missed the second leg of the Europa League play-off against Suduva at Celtic Park on Thursday night. The forward, who moved to the Scottish champions from Fulham two seasons ago, has also been linked with a move to Marseille. Before the game Rodgers told BBC Scotland: “At some point he will go.“Hopefully it is all resolved by tomorrow. When it comes so late in the day, it’s so difficult to get the quality in.”Rodgers also confirmed his interest in Youssouf Mulumbu. The 31-year-old former West Brom midfielder, who left Kilmarnock in May, was at Celtic Park earlier on Thursday.“We’ve been on the lookout for an aggressive number eight,” said Rodgers. “Hopefully he gets through a medical this evening.“He was exceptional for Kilmarnock. He fits the profile and has the experience. It’s a really good move for us.”If Rodgers was hoping that a rejected offer would be the end to the Dembele story, he was wrong. The winger himself has sparked new life into the rumours after posting a cryptic tweet on his social media platform.Tweeting to over 200,000 of his followers, Dembele simply posted a picture, with the message: "A man, without his word, is nothing. A real man keeps his word."

Unsurprisingly, a lot of football fans are thinking this is a dig aimed at either Rodgers or the Celtic board, for possibly telling Dembele he can leave the club this summer, only to deny him that move by rejecting offers.

However, given Rodgers' recent quotes, it still seems a transfer is likely to take place before the window slams shut.
