The Houston Rockets finally offloaded Ryan Anderson on Thursday in a four-player trade with the Phoenix Suns.According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Rockets secured a deal to send the veteran - along with De'Anthony Melton - to the Suns in exchange for Marquese Chriss and Brandon Knight. The franchise has been working hard to move Anderson for two years as they were keen to get his huge contract off their books. He still has two years and $41 million left on his contract and will now see out the remainder of it in Phoenix.

Experience

The Arizona-based outfit is looking to add experienced players to their promising young roster and the 30-year-old's three-point shooting ability comes as an added boost.

He's expected to be their starting power forward and complement rookie center Deandre Ayton by spacing the floor.

Houston will take on Chriss, who was the number eight draft pick in 2016 but hasn't come close to fulfiling his potential yet.

The 21-year-old still has his best years ahead of him and could be a real asset off the bench for the Rockets.

The young forward possesses great athleticism and is a decent shot-blocker. His acquisition could turn out to be a coup.

Knight, who has two years and $30 million remaining on his deal, missed the entire 2017-18 season with a torn ACL.

The point guard has endured a tough 12 months of rehab to get himself ready for the new campaign and should see minutes playing behind Chris Paul.

The 26-year-old was the number eight pick in the draft in 2011 but despite his talent, he's bounced around the league over the last seven years, with Houston now becoming his fourth team.

He enjoyed his best campaign in 2015-16 where he averaged a career-high 19.6 points per game.

If Knight is able to return to full health, he could add much-needed scoring and playmaking off the bench.

His departure from Phoenix leaves a gap at the point guard position for the Suns and Wojnarowski reports that they're determined to find a replacement capable of starting.

It means they're likely to go in search of another trade before the season begins in October.

With Devin Booker, Trevor Ariza, Ayton and Anderson, they already have four of their starting five in place as they seek to show a huge improvement.

The organisation is clearly moving in the right direction and as Booker stated earlier this week, it's "winning time".
