British boxing heavyweight Tyson Fury shocked the world by announcing a deal to fight Deontay Wilder had been agreed after beating Francesco Pianeta in his second comeback fight.

Fury returned earlier this year after a two-and-a-half year absence from the sport, having beaten Wladimir Klitschko for the WBA, WBO, and IBF titles in late 2015.

The Gypsy King relinquished those belts shortly after to address his self-confessed problems with depression and drug addiction.

After two back-to-back wins in a matter of months, Fury is well on his way to reaching his former heights.

Deontay 'Bronze Bomber' Wilder is next on Fury's hit list, as a fight between the two has been confirmed for later this year by promoter Frank Warren. Although, the date and venue are yet to be confirmed.

However, one fellow British heavyweight claims Fury's fitness troubles may prevent the fight from actually happening.

Off the back of a win against Joseph Parker, Dillian Whyte said he thinks Fury 'isn't ready' to take on Wilder.

When speaking to BettingPro.com, he said: "I'm glad he got himself out of a bad place, but you know, Tyson talks a lot of smack, but he doesn't want any smoke, he doesn't want a fight.

"I can't see him fighting Wilder, but they agreed to a fight and he'll pull out with an injury because he's not ready."

Recent reports suggest Whyte will be next to challenge Anthony Joshua in a rematch after AJ's upcoming fight against Alexander Povetkin.

Joshua, himself, had been linked with a blockbuster bout against Wilder, but a deal for the fight had fallen through due to reported disagreements over where it would take place.

Fury, however, has shown no intention of pulling out of the fight.

He took to Instagram to address the rumours.

He said: "I've been reading that this fight is off between me and Wilder. Not on my watch, it ain't.

"I'm just taking some much-needed rest from a nine-month training camp, but I will resume training on September 1st.

"I've always been a big believer of 'if it's your time, it's your time and if you're not ready, don't do it.' Well, I am ready, and I can fight."
