Despite the start of the 2018 NFL season being just days away, Khalil Mack has still not reported at all during the preseason for the Oakland Raiders. Both the Raiders and Mack are still at a standoff over his contract extensions, and some reports now believe that the Raiders will trade him away to make sure they don't lose him for nothing next summer. If the former Defensive Player of the Year's holdout goes into the regular season, he won't receive game checks of more than $814,000 per week. It, therefore, seems unlikely that Mack will miss any regular season games, but Raiders fans might be even more confident about his attendance next week after his recent comments on social media. On Twitter, Ted Nguyen of The Athletic posted a GIF of Mack easily beating the Miami Dolphins’ offensive line during a game.

The defensive end saw this and replied with a simple tweet saying: "I miss it."

It seems as though Mack is missing hitting and tackling opponents on the field, and therefore could be the first to crack when it comes to contract negotiations with the Raiders.

This tweet as well will give Raiders fans hope that the former Defensive Player of the Year will be playing in the team's opening game of the season on September 10 at home against the Los Angeles Rams.

In the last year of his four-year deal with Oakland, Mack is set to earn $13.8 million, so long as he doesn't miss any regular season games.

So far though, due to his lack of participation in the preseason, he has already been fined $1 million.

If reports are to be believed though, Mack's contract negotiations are not going to be solved anytime soon.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Raiders and Mack are “essentially nowhere” in their talks with less than a week to go before the regular season begins.

Recent reports as well have stated that the Raiders want at least two first-round picks in any trades for the defensive end.
