Chelsea maintained their perfect start to the season with a 2-0 victory over Bournemouth. It took the hosts 72 minutes to break the deadlock at Stamford Bridge, Pedro finally finding a way through a resolute Cherries' defence.Eden Hazard then put the game beyond doubt in the later stages, the Belgian scoring his second goal of the season.Maurizio Sarri has been going about his business relatively quiet and yet the Italian undoubtedly deserves a lot of credit for the Blues' improvement. It was his introduction of Olivier Giroud that changed the game, the Frenchman providing the assist for Pedro. The former Napoli boss hasn't been afraid to switch things up tactically either, playing N'Golo Kante further up the pitch as part of a 4-3-3.The midfielder is obviously going to take a little time to adapt to his new role but you get the feeling his work ethic is going to make up for any difficulties. When he did lose the ball 15 minutes in against Bournemouth, he mounted an almost super-human effort to get it back, sprinting 70 yards and finally making a perfectly-timed tackle on Ryan Fraser:

Discussing his new position, he told RMC Sport after the final whistle:

Kane enjoying life in the 8 role

"All in all it’s a good start. Four games, four wins, that’s what we wanted. We’ve started well before the break and taken as many points as possible before September when there will be more games.

"(Sarri) is a new coach, it’s a new system. Today we are playing in 4-3-3, the coach makes me play higher in (the number) 8 (role), so in relay.

"I try to combine with the defenders and Jorginho and find the attackers.

"I like this job, it takes time. We’re training for everything to gel, but I think it’s going in the right direction. With this team, we can play well."

Chelsea sit joint-top of the Premier League table heading into the international break thanks to victories over Huddersfield Town, Arsenal, Newcastle United, and now Bournemouth.
