DeMarcus Cousins is making significant progress from his torn Achilles and the signs are hugely encouraging for the Golden State Warriors. After shocking the NBA world by signing the All-Star to a one-year, $5.3 million deal, the Dubs are excited to get the big man back on the court to roll out a formidable lineup. But it's still unclear when he'll make his debut as he's still at least a few months away from being back to 100 percent. The positive thing is that his rehab is going smoothly and he should make a full recovery. Warriors head coach Steve Kerr recently gave an update on the center and he's progressing. "He’s right on schedule. He hasn’t had any setbacks. He’s doing well," Kerr said to Mark Medina of the Mercury News."Beyond that, there’s nothing. No prediction. Especially with an Achilles injury, you have to wait and see how the player responds once he’s on the court and moving at full speed."

Comeback trail

Cousins has been allowing fans to follow his journey with regular videos on social media.

A recent clip showed the All-NBA man moving well around the court and dunking for the first time since the long-term setback.

He has a real chip on his shoulder as he's keen to show the sceptics that he's able to recover and get back to his old self when he takes to the floor again.

Many have questioned how Boogie will feel when he returns as there are several players who have struggled to recapture their best form following an Achilles tear.

That's one of the reasons why he received little to no offers in free agency and decided to take a small contract with the defending champions.

He certainly has a point to prove to those teams that passed on him and his intense workouts show that.

He averaged 25.2 points, 12.9 rebounds, 5.4 assists, 1.6 steals, and 1.6 blocks per game last season with the New Orleans Pelicans and was on course for a huge max deal this summer.

But everything changed for the former Sacramento Kings star when he went down in January.

If he's able to get himself healthy and contribute to a title win in the Bay Area next season, he should see more offers flooding in when he hits the free agency market again in 2019.
