With just over a month to go until the start of training camp, Dwyane Wade has still not made a decision on his NBA future. The veteran has spent the entire summer contemplating retirement but he's still torn between calling time on his career and playing for another year. The latest reports, however, suggest the 36-year-old is leaning towards the latter.

One last year

That's according to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald who says that one person with the Miami Heat and another person who has spoken with Wade believe the 12-time All-Star "seems inclined" to play the upcoming season.

Heat president Pat Riley recently stated that their goal is to re-sign the shooting guard as they're keen to bring him back for a 16th campaign in the league.

He said they simply want Wade in a Miami uniform next season regardless of how it would impact the team financially.

“I don’t think this is about negotiating a mid-level or dollars,” Riley told the Sun Sentinel.

“It’s about getting Dwyane back. It’s not really about the tax right now. Even though we have a tax situation, we’ll work our way around that.

“All the business aspects of the tax and the cap, that’s all part of the equation, but let’s get the team together."

Wade has already confirmed that if he is to return, he'll only play for the Florida-based franchise.

“If I’m playing the game of basketball this year, it’ll be in a Miami uniform,” Wade told the Associated Press.

Farewell tour

The three-time champion returned to South Beach last year after he was traded by the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The future Hall of Famer has spent 13 and a half years with the Heat and fans would love to see him return in order to give him a perfect send-off.

He's likely to have a bench role and play as a sixth man for Erik Spoelstra's team as he did effectively in the latter stages of the previous campaign.

Wade averaged 12 points in 21 games off the bench and rolled back the years with some vintage displays and clutch moments along the way.

His numbers increased to 16.6 points in Miami's five-game playoff series loss to the Philadelphia 76ers.

The former Finals MVP will need to make a decision in the coming weeks but it appears that Heat fans may get their wish and see the legend suit up for one final year.
