Chris Jericho shocked the wrestling world by appearing at Cody Rhodes and the Young Bucks' All In event in Chicago.

Jericho became a free agent in 2017 following the conclusion of his rivalry with Kevin Owens in WWE, and subsequently appeared in New Japan Pro Wrestling to challenge Kenny Omega to a match at Wrestle Kingdom.

The two put on a wrestling clinic in Tokyo in January 2018, with Omega the victor on that occasion, but Jericho soon put that behind him and took the IWGP Intercontinental Championship off Tetsuya Naito in June.

He chose not to appear at New Japan's shows in the United States this summer out of respect for Vince McMahon, and stated he would not appear at All In as it would 'lower his value' as a competitor.

Following the conclusion of Omega's bout with Pentagon Jr, the masked Mexican jumped the IWGP Heavyweight champion Omega from behind, but all was not what it seemed.

A familiar-looking Codebreaker was hit on the Bullet Club member, and the crowd then knew for certain that Jericho was the man under the mask before he revealed himself.

And Jericho revealed on his Instagram how he pulled such a feat off without being recognised beforehand.

"We flew from Little Rock to Chicago, we got in about 5:30, I hid in the Young Bucks’ office at the Sears Centre dressed up as Pentagon, attacked Kenny Omega, unmasked, shocked the world," stated Jericho.

“Now for the ultimate power move, we are on a private jet to fly to a Fozzy gig in Merriam Kansas.

"So I’m doing both in one night. Who else would do that? Who else is crazy enough and stupid enough to do that?"

Only you, Chris.

The rematch has now been set between Jericho and Omega, in a match that is too big to happen on land - so it's going to happen on water instead.

That's not a joke, as the second installment of Alpha vs Omega will take place on a cruise ship during 'Chris Jericho's Rock 'N' Wrestling Rager' in October, that will travel from Miami to the Bahamas.

It's sure to be another instant classic.
