Liverpool spent big to solve their goalkeeping problems this summer when they paid a then-world record fee for Alisson Becker from AS Roma.

Although you wouldn't know it if you caught Saturday's game against Leicester City.

The Brazilian came with a big reputation for his confidence on the ball - something he demonstrated a week earlier against Brighton.

That match at Anfield saw him charge out of his area and casually chip the ball over the onrushing forward, keeping possession and drawing praise from all corners for his composure.

And Alisson's ability to do that was fresh in the mind at the King Power Stadium.

Virgil van Dijk played a slack backpass to his keeper but Alisson still should have dealt with it - instead, he attempted a Cruyff turn inside his own box, got the ball stuck under his feet, and was easily dispossessed by Kelechi Iheanacho.

A few seconds later Rachid Ghezzal is sticking the ball in his net to give Alisson his first conceded goal in a Liverpool shirt.

But despite the ridiculous error, Jurgen Klopp is adamant that he's happy his goalkeeper made it.

“To be 100% honest I’m really happy it happened because we don’t have to wait for it now,” he said after his side's 2-1 win.

“After last week everyone was talking about it and saying someday it will be difficult - today you saw it.

"Don’t do it that way. Box ticked. Carry on.”

Now, it's probably safe to say that Klopp finds it easier to accept things with his team top of the league with four wins from four, but long-term, he's not worried either.

“He’s 0.0 per cent arrogant but he’s confident and he can do it," he said. "We make decisions in a second and in a second you realise that was the wrong one.”

And that's something backed up by Alisson himself, with the keeper admitting that he's got to learn from this.

“It’s part of my game but I’m not going to be arrogant and say I’m going to keep doing it,” he said. “We have to learn from our mistakes.

“If the dribble is necessary it has to be the last resort - I just have to make sure it doesn’t happen again.”
