Naby Keita couldn't have hoped to make a better start to life as a Liverpool player.

Since completing his £52.75m move from RB Leipzig in the summer, the 23-year-old has featured in all four Premier League games for his new club and won them all.

Only in the Leicester City game did Keita not start, but against West Ham, Crystal Palace and Brighton he was fantastic.

Keita has brought pace, energy and flair to Liverpool's midfield that perfectly complements the more defensive styles of Jordan Henderson, Georginio Wijnaldum and Fabinho.

He arrived to much fanfare and has lived up to the hype, which Liverpool legend Xabi Alonso always knew would be the case.

Alonso listed Keita's qualities back in June having played against the Guinean in the Bundesliga for Bayern Munich.

"He's a big personality," said Alonso. "He has the hunger, the will to compete and after in football terms he's an all-round midfielder.

KEITA'S BIGGEST FAN

"[He’s] good with the ball, he runs and dribbles very quickly with the ball, but he also likes to make things tick in the midfield.

"I think for this position in front of the holding midfielder, or even as a holding midfielder [or] close to the front three, he can have that role to find the space and to be up there. [He's a] good signing.

"He will have to adapt to the idea [of Klopp's philosophy], but I don't think that he will have many problems because he's a great player and very complete.

"[Under] Jurgen you need to do [play like] 'bang, bang, bang' and if he gets it, he will do well."

Huge praise from Alonso - and now Keita has returned the favour by giving an insight into what it was like playing against the Spaniard in his prime.

Alonso, who is now retired aged 36, joined Bayern from Real Madrid in 2014 and Keita claims he always used to "suffer" from his composure and wide range of passing.

"When I used to play against Bayern, Xabi Alonso always used to give me a really hard time,” Keita told Liverpool's website. "He was so experienced, he made me suffer.

"The way he'd keep switching play just meant that you could never stop running. He was very intelligent."

That's Alonso for you. Very few compared to the former Spain man when it came to playing short or long passes and clearly his decision making was just too quick for Keita.
