Derby County manager Frank Lampard has found himself the poster boy of a prospective New York park, after a photo of himself running through the new park was used by New York governor Andrew Cuomo, in an attempt to promote the cities new Shirley Chisholm State Park. The images have received exposition from the online communities of Facebook and Twitter, who have been eagle-eyed enough to spot that the photos have real people in front of fake backdrops, in a harrowing artistic attempt to show the new park.A series of images have been put together in a design venture to show New Yorkers what the new park will look like, but one particular image has caught the eye upon its release. This distinct photograph focuses on a male jogging over a bridge beside a lake. This man turns out to be none other than former NYCFC midfielder and current Derby County manager Frank Lampard. It clearly didn’t take long for those with a penetrative eye to figure out that the photo did indeed include Frank Lampard, and were very quick to point out that this photo was indeed taken when Lampard was in New York, and wearing his NYCFC training kit.It is unsure whether Cuomo meant to have the ex-England midfielder in these images, or whether they thought that nobody would notice such a high profile star appearing in these horrific photoshop attempts. If he did, he was very wrong.

Lampard was one of the highest profile players to ever represent New York City, so it was inevitable that this would be spotted by the online community. This could, however, have been the tactic from Cuomo striving to gain publicity for the New York park.

The photoshopped images themselves have been heavily criticised online, due to their poor quality.

Whatever the motive of using an image of Lampard from 2015 was, it has certainly had a huge amount of online hits, mistake or not, its had an effect.
