It’s been a seriously difficult few months for Leroy Sane on the football pitch. The Manchester City winger was surprisingly left out of Germany’s World Cup squad, with coach Joachim Low preferring Julian Brandt instead. There was a belief among many football fans that Sane would use his rejection as fuel to make a fast start to the season with Man City. But the complete opposite has happened.Sane has played just 30 minutes under Pep Guardiola and was left out of the squad for the recent win over Newcastle United. There are reportedly concerns at Man City over Sane’s attitude.Sane’s talent can’t be called into question - he is the reigning PFA Young Player of the Year.

Sane has left Germany camp

But it seems like his attitude could be letting him down.

More concerns were raised on Friday when the Germany national team announced that Sane had left the camp for private reasons.

The 22-year-old won’t be available for Sunday’s friendly against Peru.

Was it a continuation of Sane’s difficult relationship with Low?

Apparently not.

German outlet Bild have reported that Sane’s partner is expecting to give birth in a few days, and the winger has left to be with her.

So instead of it turning into another negative story, there’s actually a great reason for Sane leaving the team hotel.

Sane would love to have grasped the opportunity to show Low why he was wrong to leave him out of the World Cup squad.

The Man City man only played for seven minutes in Thursday’s 0-0 draw against France in the UEFA Nations League.

Sane will have to wait until next month for his next opportunity to impress.

The 2014 World Cup winners continue their Nations League campaign against the Netherlands on October 13.

They then face France on October 16 in a meeting of the two most recent world champions.
