Few debates fire up Manchester United and Manchester City fans quite like Marcus Rashford vs Gabriel Jesus.

Both young strikers at their respective clubs, they have regularly become subjects of comparison for supporters and each fanbase will staunchly defend their respective forward.

Jesus made the move to the Etihad Stadium in 2017 and quickly established himself as one of the most lethal strikers in the Premier League.

He hit the ground running in England, establishing the best minute-per-goal ratio in the competition's history and held his own up against Sergio Aguero.

Now entering his third season under Pep Guardiola, the Brazilian boasts a record of 25 goals in 58 appearances despite making a slow start in 2018/19.

The Rashford vs Jesus debate

As for Rashford, fans will never forget his breakthrough to the United first-team back in 2016 and the Englishman has gone onto hold his own at Old Trafford ever since.

He continues to impress under Jose Mourinho despite having to compete with the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial.

Now 20 years old, there's plenty of reason to feel smug about 32 goals in 126 appearances at arguably the world's biggest club.

FIFA 19 settles the debate

And all that considered, it's pretty easy to see why Jesus and Rashford are compared with fans completely disagreeing on the superior forward.

One of the best ways to contrast is via the ratings handed out in FIFA video games and last year, Jesus won the battle with a rating of 81 compared to Rashford 79.

Fast forward to the eve of FIFA 19's release and the debate has been blown wide open again with the game's 'leaked' ratings appearing to settle the argument ahead of time.

Both players' overall ratings have changed but FIFA's opinion on Jesus vs Rashford hasn't.

From the screenshots gathered from the demo, Rashford has been upgraded to an 81 card while his rival Jesus has maintained his lead with a 83 rating.

So, it means City fans can continue to feel smug about their own young striker and can maintain the bragging rights for another year at least.

It will be incredibly interesting to make the comparison when their full FUT cards have been released to see if Jesus maintains dominance across the board.

If nothing else, though, it can serve as extra motivation for Rashford to push on at United this season when they need him most.

Like Jesus, the Englishman has made a slow start to the new campaign and recently picked up the first red card of his career against Burnley.

The more goals he scores and the fewer dismissals, the greater his chances of earning a FIFA upgrade and finally tracking down Jesus.
