Over the last few months, there's been plenty of speculation surrounding the idea that WWE will be introducing some more championship belts very soon.

Much of the talk has been around the female division - and that would make sense, considering everything else that's happened this year.

NEW GOLD FOR EVOLUTION?

Earlier this summer, Stephanie McMahon made a historic announcement, revealing that WWE will be holding its first ever all-female PPV in October.

"Evolution" will come towards the end of what's been an incredible year for women's wrestling - one that began back in January, with the inaugural Women's Royal Rumble.

With the new PPV just over a month away, many believe that we'll soon be seeing Women's Tag Team titles, as well as something like an Intercontinental ladies title.

Both of those would be great additions, but if the latest rumours are to be believed, WWE could have something even more exciting in the pipeline.

A RETURNING BELT

According to Joe Peisich of Barnburner, the company are thinking about re-introducing a retired title, alongside the new female belts.

As of now, it's not confirmed which belt that will be, but he believes it could be either the Hardcore Title or European Title.

"WWE will be implementing new titles," Peisich revealed on the Fired Up podcast, per Ringside News

"I think they’re going to debut the [women's] tag team titles and then one other title is going to be coming back to WWE. I don’t know if it’s the Hardcore Title or European Title."

It's fair to say that both of those options would be very exciting - and arguably, there's a couple of superstars on the roster who would fit those belts perfectly.

PERFECT CHAMPIONS

For example, Dean Ambrose has a serious reputation of being one of WWE's most hardcore wrestlers - and he's been looking particularly unhinged since his return.

Giving him a run with the re-introduced Hardcore Championship would be epic. Similarly, another superstar lends himself to the European title.

That would be Cesaro. Despite being in a successful tag team with Sheamus on RAW, the pair have struggled to get off the ground on SmackDown Live.

Arguably, there would be no one more excited to see the European belt return than "The Swiss Superman".

With even just those two examples in mind, bringing back either one of those retired titles would make WWE so much more exciting. But which would you like to see back?
