Over the offseason, the Seattle Seahawks had a rather large transition across their team - moving away from their failed dynasty roster and looking to go younger. One of the casualties of this was Richard Sherman, who was not retained by head coach Pete Carroll and was allowed to head to the free agent market - where he was picked up by divisional rivals the San Francisco 49ers. With Sherman being let go by the Seahawks, there was always going to be speculation about whether or not he's lost a step and is no longer the shutdown corner he was in his Legion of Boom prime. The former Stanford man got a chance to show everyone that he's still got it against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday - making his debut in Red and Gold by lining up across Stefon Diggs, one of the NFL's best and trickiest wide receivers. It's safe to say that things didn't exactly go well.Like we said, Diggs is probably the trickiest receivers to cover in the entire league. He's on an elite level that not many can match.Richard Sherman definitely learnt that today after being sent nearly tumbling to the floor by the move that Diggs put on him. That was just nasty. And also embarrassing for the Niners cornerback, who didn't get any sympathy from those on Twitter who saw Diggs' route.

Diggs finished the game with three catches for 43 yards and a touchdown. Not an outrageous statline but it was enough as the Minnesota Vikings came out of Sunday with a 1-0 record after winning 24-16.

And judging by how badly Sherman got shook by Diggs, maybe it's time the cornerback decided to focus on working out some of his flaws rather than constantly talking in the media.
