Today, Paris Saint-Germain are European giants but it hasn't always been that way.
Before the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Neymar donned their shirt, PSG had only won two Ligue 1 titles since being founded in 1970.
Things changed drastically in the summer of 2011.
Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani bought a 70% share of PSG through his Qatar Sports Investments company and installed Nasser Al-Khelaifi as president.
They outspent every other club in Europe that summer.
After finishing fourth in Ligue 1, a grand total of €87.1m was spent on nine players by their oil-rich owners.
They suffered mixed fortunes after moving to PSG - but eight of the nine are still playing professional football today.
Nicolas Douchez - Free
The French goalkeeper was given the number 1 jersey after joining from Rennes but made only 11 Ligue 1 starts in five years at the Parc des Princes.
Aged 38, Douchez is still in Paris playing regularly for Ligue 2 club Red Star.
Kevin Gameiro - €11m
The highly-rated striker, who joined from Lorient as a proven goalscorer, fell out of favour in his second season at PSG and was sold to Sevilla for €10m in 2013.
Atletico Madrid would later splash out €32m on Gameiro in 2016 and he managed 19 La Liga goals in a two-year spell before joining Valencia for €20m this summer.
Milan Bisevac - €3.2m
He lasted only one season at PSG - making 19 Ligue 1 appearances - before being sold to Lyon for €2.75m.
The 35-year-old Serbian international can now be found playing Luxembourg for Dudelange.
Salvatore Sirigu - €3.9m
Sirigu quickly became the first-choice goalkeeper at PSG despite initially being signed as reserve for Nicolas Douchez.
Kevin Trapp's 2015 arrival relegated Sirigu to the bench and the 31-year-old eventually joined Torino on a free transfer in 2017.
Jeremy Menez - €8m
The skilful forward was a regular for two seasons in Paris but left for AC Milan in 2014 after struggling to fight off competition from Lucas Moura, Ezequiel Lavezzi, Edinson Cavani and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Still only 31, Menez is currently playing for Club America in Mexico after unsuccessful spells at Bordeaux and Antalyaspor.
Blaise Matuidi - €8m
The 31-year-old midfielder was arguably PSG's most successful signing of the 2011 summer window - and he was an absolute bargain at just €8m.
Matuidi, now a World Cup winner with France, made 294 appearances for the Parisiens before joining Juventus for €20m in 2017.
Mohamed Sissoko - €8m
The former Liverpool and Juventus midfielder was a regular in his debut season under Carlo Ancelotti but the arrival of Thiago Motta starved Sissoko of playing time.
He left Paris Saint-Germain by mutual consent in September 2013 and can now be found playing for Kitchee Sports Club in Hong Kong.
Javier Pastore - €42m
Signed from Palermo, the Argentine midfielder was the pearl of PSG's first transfer window under their obscenely rich new owners.
Plagued by injury problems, Pastore won 19 domestic trophies at PSG before joining Roma in June 2018.
Diego Lugano - €3m
The highly-rated Uruguayan centre-back only managed to make 12 Ligue 1 appearances before joining West Brom on a free transfer in 2013.
In January 2018, Lugano announced his retirement.
