It's impossible not to like N'Golo Kante.The French midfielder has earned a reputation as one of the best central midfielders in world football since moving to Leicester City in 2015.Now at Chelsea, the energetic 26-year-old played a starring role in France's World Cup success in Russia this summer.And Kante's shy personality was highlighted on the biggest stage when his teammates had to force him to lift the World Cup trophy after beating Croatia in the final.His international teammates also invented a song for Kante, which was sung by the whole stadium in their first match back in France on Sunday night."N’Golo Kante / He’s little / He’s sweet / He stopped Leo Messi / But we all know he’s a cheat / N’Golo Kante."The Stade de France all sang it in unison.
Kante is not considered a "cheat" on-the-pitch but his France teammates believed that he was cheating at card games.
Following victory over Holland in the UEFA Nations League, Kante brilliantly refuted the claims that he cheats.
His smile is infectious.
Kante said, as per Goal: "This song spread during the World Cup. I think that it will be an unforgettable moment for me, it was very nice."
"I'm not a cheat [at card games]. I'm a competitor and those who lose like to give others a bad rap."
Kante is just the cutest.
Previously, he offered a humble response to his teammates suggestions that he was the one who stopped Leo Messi.
After another remarkable season in the Premier League, Kante was included in a 15-man midfield shortlist for a place in FIFPro’s World XI.
Only three midfielders will make the cut with the XI set to be announced on September 24 at a ceremony in London.
New Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has been impressed by Kante's technical ability.
"Kante is a great midfielder," Sarri said, as per the Mirror. "He can play any position in my midfield. It’s not a problem for him.
"I was surprised about the technical qualities from Kante."
