Tom Thibodeau is slowly recreating his Chicago Bulls team from five years ago with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

His latest recruit was Luol Deng after the veteran signed a one-year, $2.4 million deal earlier this week.

He joins a team that already features his former Bulls teammates Jimmy Butler, Derrick Rose and Taj Gibson.

Timber-Bulls

Social media has already had a lot to say about this reunion as the franchise is now being referred to as the "Timber-Bulls" by fans and fellow players.

But while many are clowning Thibodeau for living in the past, Dwyane Wade has praised him for his loyalty to his troops from Chicago.

The three-time NBA champion took to Twitter to admit that he's now become a real fan of the T-Wolves head coach because of the trust he has for those players that served him so well in the Windy City.

"Besides competing against his teams in the past I don’t know Thibs like that but I am now a bigger fan and it’s because of his loyalty. I love that he believes in his guys. The game is played more than one way," Wade tweeted.

The Miami Heat legend was involved in epic battles against Thibodeau's Bulls team as they were their biggest obstacle in the Eastern Conference in the early big three era.

They met in the conference finals in 2011 - the first year that LeBron James and Chris Bosh arrived in South Beach - and the Heat won it in five games.

Rose injuries

Chicago finished with the number one seed in the east and led by Rose, who became the league's youngest-ever MVP that season, they were real championship contenders.

But a torn ACL suffered by the point guard in the following season derailed them and it was the start of their demise as they failed to hit those same heights again.

Derrick Rose hasn't been the same since his ACL injury in 2012

D.Rose's career went downhill after that moment too as he suffered another ACL after his return and has dealt with multiple injuries every year since.

But regardless of what they've been through at other teams in recent seasons, Thibodeau remembers how his players went to war for him every single night and he knows their strengths.

He has real faith in them and is hoping to have that same success in Minnesota.

Times have certainly changed for the likes of Rose and Deng but if they've got anything left in the tank, Thibodeau is surely the man that can get it out of them.
