If you could name one pairing that's had a ton of momentum in the WWE in 2018, it may have to be Aiden English and Rusev.

The duo have taken what was seemingly a throw-away act and transformed it into one that the crowd cheers and chants for.

English was brought up to the main roster from NXT in 2014 with his Vaudevillians tag partner Simon Gotch, but once Gotch was released from his contract last year, English was given multiple opportunities to prove his worth.

After getting involved in Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens' long-running feud, English aligned himself with Rusev, and it was during this time the phrase 'Rusev Day' was coined - and the rest is history.

Their organic turn to becoming favourites of the WWE Universe has been a great watch, and the team will get an opportunity to take the Smackdown Tag Team Championships from the New Day at Hell in a Cell.

Rusev Day defeated The Bar - Sheamus and Cesaro - on SmackDown Live to set up the clash, and it was a hard-hitting affair.

English ended up taking a bullet for Rusev, in the form of a Brogue Kick from Sheamus, before Rusev put away the 'Celtic Warrior'.

What seems to have been missed by the fans though are the horrendous battle-scars suffered from English during the match though.

As shown in a post-match interview, English's body is covered in marks given to him by The Bar, showing what a rough time he had inside the ring.

And the 'Drama King' took to his Instagram account to show his injuries even closer to his fans.

Make no mistake about it - Aiden English is one brave man for taking that kind of punishment.

Will he and Rusev take the blue straps from the New Day though just a few weeks after dethroning the Bludgeon Brothers? Let us know in the comments below.
