Didier Drogba just loved playing against Arsenal. For Chelsea, the striker played 15 times against the Gunners, losing just once and scoring 13 times. He just enjoyed bullying that Arsenal defence. And it seems Arsenal defenders just hated playing against him.Well, one man did anyway - Philippe Senderos. The Swiss defender was at Arsenal for seven seasons, playing more than 100 times. But he failed to ever convince Gooners of his ability and comments from his former defensive partner William Gallas won’t do anything for his reputation amongst Arsenal fans.In an interview with RMC, Gallas revealed how Senderos literally used to have panic attacks before coming up against the Ivorian forward."I knew Philippe Senderos, before a match he would need to speak a lot, you could see that he was sweating, that he did not feel good," Gallas told RMC.

"Especially against certain players. I saw him against Chelsea, against Didier Drogba, where he would genuinely panic, like he was going through his match before playing it.

"And unfortunately, when you saw him on the pitch, he lost his playing abilities, he didn’t play well. But against his own team-mates, he played better."

Madness.

Imagine being a professional footballer and being scared to face another player.

Maybe that’s why Senderos’ Arsenal career was far from convincing…

Arsene Wenger snapped up the centre-back from Swiss side Servette in 2003, and many believed he was the long-term replacement for legendary captain Tony Adams.

It started promisingly for him, winning the FA Cup and reaching the Champions League final in just his second season at the club.

But mistakes soon started to creep into his game and by 2008, he was out of favour.

Loan spells at Milan and Everton followed for Senderos before moves to Fulham, Valencia, Aston Villa, Grasshoppers and Rangers.

The 33-year-old is now at Houston Dynamo in the MLS.
