With both competitors looking for a fight and both being represented by the same promoter, it makes a lot of sense for Amir Khan and Kell Brook to meet in the ring.

Furthermore, Khan has recently returned to form as he dispatched Samuel Vargas at the Birmingham Arena in his most recent fight, but boxing fans across the world aren't entirely convinced whether a fight between these two will actually happen.

In addition to this, Khan and Brook's boxing promoter Eddie Hearn echoed this point and went on record to say that if a fight between the pair doesn't happen next, it will never happen.

Within recent times, boxing pundit Spencer Fearon informed the former Olympian that if he didn't fight Brook, the British boxing public would never forgive him.

Regarding that statement, Khan had the following to say: “Exactly but I’m not saying no to that fight.

"The thing is though, at the moment, I take every fight a step at a time.

"Tomorrow I could hurt my hand, I could get hit by a car. This is the world we live in. But in my opinion, what makes more sense for me is taking the Manny Pacquiao fight because we don’t know how much he has left in him.

"Manny Pacquiao like you said is almost 40 years old yeah, so how long has he got left.

"Whereas, Kell Brook is 32. He’s a very similar age to me, I think there’s a six month age difference, I’m 31, he’s 32.

"That fight could be made a lot easier as well is with the same promotional company. The fight that won’t be there for a long time is the Manny Pacquiao fight. That’s the reason, honestly.”

Therefore, it appears that the British fighter is focusing his attention towards the former world champion before he decides to hang his gloves up.
