Chelsea and Maurizio Sarri appear to be a match made in heaven.

After a season of stagnation under Antonio Conte, the former Napoli man appears to have galvanised the Blues.

Sarri's exciting playing style has won over the fans and the players appear to be happier than ever at the club.

Eden Hazard, Marcos Alonso, N'Golo Kante, Jorginho and Pedro Rodriguez are all thriving, with Chelsea currently on maximum points after four rounds of matches.

Whether they can challenge for the title is another thing entirely, but they look on course to break back into the top four.

And when fans hear what Sarri has been up to during the international break, their optimism about the 2018/19 season will only be increased.

As reported by the Independent, the Italian was spending up to 13 hours a day watching videos of Chelsea's upcoming opponents.

“We have to play seven matches in 23 days, so I had to work,” he said. “I have seen a lot of matches, of Cardiff and PAOK, West Ham and Liverpool, so I had to work.

“Sometimes I’m working at the training ground, sometimes at my home.

“They were long days. But, for me, it's a pleasure. I am not able to think about this as a job, like work. It's 12 or 13 hours, but for me it's not working.”

Wow, that is a ridiculous level of commitment.

Sarri also explained that he feels settled in the country after three months and has now bought his own house in Surrey.

“For the moment, I'm really very happy to stay here,” he added. “I have my dog here with a very big garden, so the dog is very happy. I'm really very happy. I feel like at home. I feel in my home.

“I have a house five miles from here, no more. It’s in Surrey, similar to my name.”

You get the feeling Sarri is here for the long run.
