Bluebirds star commits future to the club

Peter Whittingham has committed his future to Cardiff by signing a new two-year contract extension with the club.

The 26-year-old, who was a target for npower Championship rivals Nottingham Forest during the summer, will remain with the Welsh side until the end of the 2012-13 season.

Whittingham has scored 42 goals in 171 appearances for Cardiff since joining the club from Aston Villa in January 2007.
