N'Golo Kante is one of the most popular figures in world football. The Frenchman is not only one of the best players in the world on the pitch, he also seems to be a very likeable person off it.A story has emerged in recent days that only emphasise that point.Kante starred in Chelsea's win over Cardiff on Saturday, with his side prevailing 4-1 thanks to a hat-trick from Eden Hazard and a goal from Willian.Following the game Kante wanted to go back to France to spend the rest of the weekend in France, but those plans were scuppered after he missed his train.Needing to make new plans, Kante googled local mosques so he could undertake his evening prayer. He met a group of football fans who invited him back to their house. The vast majority of footballers would refuse that offer, but Kante being the humble person he is, decided to take up the offer. He would go on to have dinner with the fans, play FIFA and even watch highlights of the matches games on Match of the Day.What a fantastic story which highlights what a terrific man Kante is. Gary Lineker saw the story on Twitter and he just had to comment by describing it as 'brilliant'.But, in typical Lineker fashion, he also couldn't help making a joke about how Kante didn't 'intercept' the train, alluding to his tireless and energetic play-style.He wrote: "Brilliant, although I’m surprised he didn’t sprint ahead and intercept the train."

Great stuff. Kante is becoming ever more popular with football fans and it seems as if he's also got a fan in Lineker.

The former England international has also had some kind words for his presence on the pitch.

Lineker, a Leicester City fan, was recently asked who he thought the club's best ever player was.

Kante only spent one season with the club, where he won the Premier League, but Lineker believes he is the best in the club's history.

"N’Golo Kante without a doubt," he said, per LeicesterMercury. "Maybe Peter Shilton, but he’s a goalkeeper so maybe not for that reason.

"Kante is the reason Leicester won the league. Mahrez was sublime at times but Kante was, and still is, phenomenal. What a player."
