Few players left Manchester United fans in awe like Luis Nani did.The skilful forward made 230 appearances for the club, winning several trophies along the way.Nani won four Premier League titles and was part of the team that won the Champions League final in 2008. He even scored in the penalty shootout. There is a feeling that Nani never reached his full potential at Old Trafford, though. It's something that Rio Ferdinand opened up on in 2017.“I think the most frustrating thing is when you know you've got players in your team with undoubted ability - great ability, got everything - but don't consistently get that out onto the pitch," Ferdinand told Ball Street."Nani was a great player. He just got sidetracked.“He could shoot better than anybody, left and right, and so hard with both feet but he wasn't consistent with it.”

Nani's Q&A

Nani, 31, now plies his trade in Portugal with Sporting Lisbon.

The Portugal international held a Q&A on Twitter on Tuesday afternoon, and many of the questions reflected on his Manchester United career.

He described playing as Wayne Rooney as “a great experience”.

Nani was also asked to name the best player that he played with and his toughest opponent.

Choosing the best teammate was easy - Cristiano Ronaldo - and Nani opted for Ashley Cole as the toughest player he has faced.

Nani played against Cole at his peak when Man United faced Chelsea and their battles were always highly entertaining.

The Sporting winger has had the privilege of not just playing with Ronaldo for Man United, but for Portugal too.

And he believes that the Juventus star is the best player in the world at this moment.

“Cristiano for sure!,” came Nani’s response when asked the question.

It would have been pretty awkward if Nani had said anyone else, to be honest.

On his relationship with Ronaldo, Nani said: “We have been friends for many years. We talk regularly.”
