Liverpool's Champions League opener against Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday night always had the potential to be a cracker.Jurgen Klopp's side have improved immensely in recent years and managed to reach the Champions League final last season.PSG, meanwhile, are one of the best teams in world football; possessing a lethal front three of Neymar, Edinson Cavani and Kylian Mbappe. Many were hoping to see an entertaining game with a wealth of attacking talent on show. And it did not disappoint.Liverpool made a tremendous start to the game and managed to take the lead as Daniel Sturridge converted Andy Robertson’s cross in the 30th minute.Klopp’s men then doubled their advantage six minutes later as James Milner converted from the penalty spot. But PSG came roaring back as Thomas Meunier struck past Alisson to halve the deficit. The French side looked as if they would secure a draw as Mbappe struck with seven minutes to go, only for Roberto Firmino to come off the bench to score a late winner for the home side. One of Liverpool’s biggest problems going into the game was figuring out how to contain Neymar. The Brazilian winger has proven himself as a top five player in the world and he was expected to be PSG’s main attacking threat at Anfield. But he didn’t have the impact many thought he would have, although he did play a big role in Mbappe's goal.Neymar is known for making opponents look silly with his skills but he got a taste of his own medicine in the first half against Liverpool.Neymar found himself defending in his own box with Sadio Mane on the ball. But he was left completely deceived as Mane produced a quick body feint.Mane then strode into the box before firing a wild shot with his left foot well wide of the goal.Brilliant from Mane. Neymar was left bamboozled as Mane went past him with ease. He didn't even attempt to get back and make the tackle.Despite the outcome, Liverpool fans absolutely loved how Mane made Neymar look silly.

Liverpool are now in a great position to quality from Group C following Firmino's dramatic winner.

The other game in the group ended in a 0-0 draw between Red Star Belgrade and Napoli.
