Liverpool look like real contenders again this Champions League season. After finishing runners-up to Real Madrid last campaign, Liverpool opened their campaign this term with a tough game against Paris Saint-Germain.But Jurgen Klopp's men emerged victorious after Roberto Firmino's goal in stoppage time gave them a 3-2 victory.Klopp admitted after the game that his team put in a good performance against a strong PSG side."It was good, really good in all departments pretty much," he said, per Liverpoolfc.com. "It is so difficult to defend them, but we did."Good organisation and a big heart is always a good combination for defending."All 11 players were involved in that. A good performance against an outstandingly strong opponent; it was necessary we played good."The atmosphere was fantastic, so special to do these things in this stadium. It was nice."In the end Liverpool were well worth their win. They dominated the game for large periods and managed to keep PSG's lethal front three, Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Edinson Cavani, quiet for large periods.Few will argue that Liverpool did not deserve their victory on the night. But one such man who thinks PSG were hard done by is their manager, Thomas Tuchel. The German manager made some very bitter comments after the game where he argued the result was 'not logical of correct'.“Maybe the score didn't tell the story of the game,” he said, per the Liverpool Echo.  “Right at the end, we had the chance with Julian Draxler that could have won it before Liverpool scored.“We put in a great performance in the first half. For me, the result was not logical or correct.“We conceded two goals in the first half but never at any point did we lose our confidence.“We played with a lot of bravery and mental strength. Maybe in the second half we gave the ball away too easily but this is Anfield, Jurgen Klopp has worked with his team for three years, Liverpool press you and make it hard. But we never lost our shape.“Through our efforts we managed to get the equalising goal. But the end was very, very tough.”Ok then, Tuchel. Fair enough he's just backing his team, but those comments sound very bitter indeed.Liverpool fans quickly picked up on them and many conveyed their amazement.
