James Milner has been worth his weight in gold for Liverpool since joining the Merseyside outfit from Manchester City back in 2015.The 32-year-old, who signed for the Reds on a free transfer, has played a starring role in his team’s near-flawless start to the 2018-19 campaign.Milner is arguably playing the best football of his professional career right now and is finally getting the recognition and praise that his performances and work ethic deserve. The former England international scored his second goal of the season in Liverpool’s dramatic 3-2 victory over Paris Saint-Germain at Anfield on Tuesday night.Jurgen Klopp’s side were awarded a penalty and the outcome was never in doubt when Milner stepped up to the plate. He cooly dispatched his 36th-minute spot-kick past Alphonse Areola to make it 2-0 to the Reds. However, there was another moment involving Milner during the first half which drew an equally big cheer from the Anfield faithful. In the seventh minute, Neymar attempted to dribble past Milner - but was crunched by the versatile Englishman and left in a heap on the deck.

Milner, who won a further five tackles during the remainder of the match, has now uploaded a very funny post on Instagram about the incident.

Alongside a photo of the tackle, Milner wrote: “Good crowd for the piggyback race yesterday 😜#expensivepartner #dontdrophim #oops”

Brilliant. Not sure Neymar will appreciate it, mind.

Neymar became the most expensive footballer of all time when he joined PSG from Barcelona in a £200 million transfer last summer, hence Milner’s #expensivepartner hashtag.

Liverpool fans, if it was possible, are loving Milner even more after his Instagram post.

He truly is football’s unexpected king of social media right now.
