Liverpool welcomed big-spending Paris Saint-Germain to Anfield confident of securing three points over the French champions.

On a breathless night, Liverpool eventually came out on top after substitute Roberto Firmino scored a last-gasp winner for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

The win extended Liverpool’s 100 percent record to six games at the start of the season.

It was a fantastic all-round team performance from the Reds with the midfield trio of James Milner, Jordan Henderson and Georginio Wijnaldum receiving heaps of praise from fans and experts alike.

Sadio Mane looked dangerous yet again while Daniel Sturridge deputised brilliantly for Firmino.

The defence also showed that it has the credentials to get the job done against some of Europe’s finest attackers as the Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez partnership continues to blossom.

However, after an encouraging start to the season, Liverpool fans will be very concerned about Mohamed Salah’s recent dip in form.

The magical Egyptian has been worryingly off-colour this season after his unbelievable break out year last time out.

Salah looked lethargic on Tuesday evening, struggling to influence the game before eventually coughing up the ball that led to PSG’s equaliser late on.

Fortunately for Salah, Firmino was on hand to bail him out, but that did not gloss over the cracks.

Now, Salah’s statistics from the clash have been revealed and they are not what you would expect from the Premier League Golden Boot winner.

The 26-year-old could only muster two shots during his 85 minute stint while only completing one dribble.

On top of all that, he only managed to complete 70.6% of his passes.

In the run-up to Kylian Mbappe’s goal, Salah gave the ball away three times in just four minutes trying make passes he would normally expect to make.

Liverpool fans will be hoping it is just a blip for their Egyptian King who cut a frustrated figure when he was hauled off by Klopp late on.

Salah will be desperate to regain his touch so that he can get back to tearing opposition defenders apart.

You can be certain he will too - there is simply no way his performances last season were a one-off.
