Kawhi Leonard has remained silent since his trade to the Toronto Raptors this summer but a lot of the talk has been done on his behalf by those within the franchise. In regards to his health, assistant coach Phil Handy, who has been working out with the superstar throughout the summer, has said he looks great on the court should be ready for the season ahead.More recently, president Masai Ujiri has spoken about the 27-year-old's mentality going into the new campaign and says he's happy and determined to get back to his best.Leonard played just nine games for the San Antonio Spurs last year due to a quad injury and there's huge intrigue around his condition. "He is determined and seems in the right frame of mind," Ujiri said, per ESPN. "You will be hearing from him shortly. I think there is a fire inside of him, and we are all excited about that."

Breaking his silence

The two-time Defensive Player of the Year will finally address the media in an introductory press conference on Friday and will face many questions.

The Raptors will finally present the man they acquired from the Spurs in the biggest offseason trade which saw DeMar DeRozan and Jakob Poeltl head to San Antonio.

Danny Green also headed to Toronto as part of the deal and will be unveiled too.

Ujiri has confirmed that Kawhi has been working with the team's coaches in Los Angeles over the summer and has visited them a couple of times.

He has no problems about the two-time All-Star's commitment to the franchise and says his focus is purely on basketball.

"Basketball person. Just loves the game," Ujiri said. "Wants to play the game and very competitive.

"You can tell he is a very competitive kid. It's about basketball. Once you just start to talk about basketball his eyes change."

The Raps will begin training camp next week and Ujiri says the NBA champion will be treated just like every other player.

"There is nothing we are going to do different," Ujiri said. "We are going to be ourselves.

"I think the situation with him in San Antonio, which I don't want to talk about because I don't know much about it, but he's a quiet kid,"

"That's his nature. We can't all be the same kind of people. But he is as engaging as he would want to be, and he's very interesting. There is no maintenance with him.

"There are no tons of people around him. His [focus] is on basketball, which is what you want. He is a basketball junkie."

Leonard is likely to be quizzed about his acrimonious departure from the Spurs in Friday's press conference and it'll be fascinating to see if he sheds any light on the situation and finally gives his side of the story.
