Bury striker Ryan Lowe has won the npower League Two Player of the Month award for September.

The Shakers forward scored four goals during the month, including a brace against Gillingham.

Peter Beagrie, who sat on the awarding panel, said: "Ryan Lowe has been inspirational for Bury. He has been leading from the front and playing with the consistency needed if Bury are going to threaten the promotion places."

Lowe beat off competition from Port Vale's Marc Richards, Stockport striker George Donnelly and Chesterfield's Craig Davies to land the trophy.
